We are an Australian-based telehealth service with a head office in Queanbeyan, NSW. Our local, on-site administration team supports patients, clinicians and referrers across Australia, while our clinicians are based around the country and provide care through secure telehealth.
Our goal is to reduce the barriers that can make getting care feel difficult, including location, uncertainty, stigma, referral confusion and long, disconnected pathways.

It is normal to have questions before starting mental health care. Wellvue is designed to make the next step easier to understand, especially if you are unsure about referrals, costs, appointment types or which clinician pathway may suit your needs.
Do I need a referral?
If you are planning to see a psychiatrist, you will generally need a referral from your GP. This referral is important for accessing Medicare rebates for psychiatric sessions.
If you are looking to see a psychologist, your GP may provide a Mental Health Care Plan, which can give access to Medicare rebates for eligible psychology sessions.
If you do not already have a referral, Wellvue has a Mental Health GP who may be able to assist with referral letters, specialist letters and general medical consults through private telehealth appointments, where appropriate.

How much will it cost?
The cost of sessions at Wellvue varies depending on the clinician you see, the appointment type and the length of the appointment.
Medicare rebates are generally available for eligible psychiatry and psychology appointments when referral requirements are met, helping reduce out-of-pocket costs.
The Medicare Safety Net may further reduce out-of-pocket costs once you reach the relevant threshold in a calendar year.
Wellvue provides specific fees when booking your first session, so you can understand the likely cost before proceeding.

Wellvue has psychiatrists with experience across adult psychiatry, child and adolescent psychiatry, youth mental health, neuropsychiatry, perinatal mental health, ADHD, ASD, trauma, anxiety, depression, OCD, bipolar disorder and complex mental health needs.
Psychiatry may support specialist assessment, diagnosis, medication review, treatment planning and ongoing care.
