How much do consultations cost?
The cost of your sessions at Wellvue will vary depending on the clinician you see and the length of the appointment. Below is a general guide to help you understand the range of fees and the Medicare rebates available:
Psychiatrist Sessions
- Initial Consultation (60 minutes): $650 – $1000
- Medicare Rebate: $262.10
- Follow-Up Appointment (30-45 minutes): $300 – $460
- Medicare Rebate: $134.00
ADHD Assessment (Psychiatrist) Sessions
- Initial Consultation (60 minutes): $900 – $1000
- Medicare Rebate: $262.10
- Session 2 and 3 (45 minutes): $750
- Medicare Rebate: $184.90
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Assessment Package
ASD assessments are delivered as a structured pathway delivered over three linked appointments with a psychiatrist. Each appointment builds on the previous one, with clinician preparation and reporting occurring across the whole assessment.
The package cost is $2400-$3500 (depending on the clinician), with a Medicare rebate of $718 (approx.) applying for eligible patients. The ASD assessment package is booked and paid upfront to ensure the assessment can be delivered without interruption.
Psychologist Sessions
- Standard Session (50 minutes): $280 – $325
- Medicare Rebate: $145.25

Additionally, the Medicare Safety Net may further reduce your out-of-pocket costs once you reach the threshold for out-of-pocket medical expenses in a calendar year.
