Preparing for your first telehealth appointment can help your session run more smoothly. These telehealth appointment tips will help you feel ready, reduce technical issues, and make it easier to focus on your care.

Choose a quiet, private, and well-lit space for your session so you and your clinician can communicate clearly. Avoid joining from a moving vehicle, even if you are not driving. Make sure your space is free from noise and distractions, and let your clinician know if anyone else is in the room with you.

Do a Test Call

Before your appointment, check that your device is ready for an online video consultation by completing a test call here. This can help you identify any technical issues before your session begins.

Get Your Technology Ready

Use a smartphone, tablet, or computer with a working camera, microphone, and stable internet connection. Make sure your device is fully charged or plugged in, and turn off notifications to help prevent interruptions during your appointment.

Arrive Early

Log in 5 minutes before your session so you have time to make sure everything is working properly. This also gives you a chance to resolve any last-minute issues before your clinician joins. You will remain in the waiting room until your clinician welcomes you into the consultation.

Be Open and Honest

Your clinician is there to support you. Share relevant details about your medical history, current medications, symptoms, and any challenges you are experiencing. This helps your clinician understand your needs and recommend the most appropriate next steps for your care.

After the Session

After your appointment, follow your clinician’s recommendations and keep them updated on any important changes. If you have practical follow-up questions or need to provide an update, email clinical@wellvue.com.au. We aim to respond within 3 business days.

Rescheduling and Cancellations

If you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment, please call 1300 935 883 or email clinical@wellvue.com.au. We ask for at least 48 business hours’ notice to avoid a cancellation fee.
