Dr Kevin Tan
General Practitioner
MbCHB, FRACGP
Dr Kevin Tan is a Melbourne-based General Practitioner with a particular interest in mental health, preventative care, and community-based continuity of care. He provides private, non-Medicare telehealth services for non-emergency needs — including general prescriptions (excluding Schedule 8 medications), medical certificates, referral letters, Specialists letters and general medical consults.
With years of experience in both rural and metropolitan settings, Dr Tan is especially attuned to the challenges patients face accessing timely medical care, whether due to geographical constraints, travel, or gaps in availability. His approach prioritises personalised attention and safe, appropriate care, particularly for individuals managing mental health conditions or requiring coordinated support.
Dr Tan completed his medical degree at the University of Auckland before pursuing general practice training with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP). His training was rooted in rural environments, where he regularly managed a wide range of acute and ongoing mental health presentations. He has provided frontline care in emergency departments and continued treatment in community settings, often coordinating referrals and post-specialist follow-ups.
His approach is warm, pragmatic, and rooted in evidence-based care. Dr Tan believes in listening closely to his patients and tailoring interventions to suit their specific needs.
Outside of medicine, Dr Tan is passionate about travel and wellness, living out his ethos of balanced living. He enjoys exploring crossfit, travel to new places and is fluent in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese, helping him support patients from diverse backgrounds with ease and cultural sensitivity.
