About

Marc is a Melbourne-based Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist who enjoys using play and cooperative thinking to help young people and parents overcome the obstacles life may throw their way. Marc’s approach is multimodal and dynamic, focusing on finding the unique approaches which work best for each individual and their family. This may include integrating several types of individual psychotherapy or considering parent collaborative work or family therapy.

Marc’s sessions aim to empower patients, parents and families by deepening their understanding of evidence-based mental health concepts which influence their lives and those of their children. He often uses visual aids, such as whiteboards, to break down these concepts and make them practical & understandable. He complements this approach with a focus on autonomy and informed decision making. Marc works with patients and parents to understand and choose the tools & strategies which may address their medical, psychological, and social recovery needs.

Marc trained at two respected Psychiatric services in Melbourne, St Vincent’s Hospital and the Alfred Hospital. He is an active researcher, currently completing a PhD on the environmental psychology of the spaces we live in on mental health & how this affects wellbeing and performance in extreme and isolated environments.

Outside of work, Marc enjoys playing Bluey-inspired make-believe games and Lego with his two young children. Marc is also an avid traveller, enjoys cultivating bonsai, video games and scuba diving.
