Approach to Mental Health Care
Christine has a warm, collaborative and trauma-informed approach. She takes time to understand each person’s story and aims to create a safe therapeutic space where patients feel heard, understood and actively involved in their care. She provides careful diagnostic assessment and individualised treatment, integrating evidence-based pharmacotherapy with psychological, lifestyle and mind-body strategies.
Training and Professional Background
Christine completed her medical degree at The University of Sydney and Master of Psychiatry at The University of Melbourne. Her specialist training included the Clinical Research Unit for Anxiety and Depression at St Vincent’s Hospital Sydney, the Royal Hospital for Women, St John of God Burwood Mother Baby Unit, and the Women’s Mental Health Clinic at The Alfred Hospital, Melbourne. Her work in women’s and perinatal mental health has also included clinical lead in the development of an online treatment program for perinatal anxiety and depression available on thiswayup.org.au.
Areas of Focus
She has undertaken additional professional training in ADHD diagnosis and management and is an active member of the Australasian ADHD Professionals Association (AADPA). She particularly enjoys working with adults where ADHD intersects with anxiety, trauma, mood symptoms, or hormonal and life-stage changes.
Having worked across metropolitan, regional and remote Australia, Christine brings broad clinical experience and an appreciation of diverse backgrounds and perspectives. Her earlier training as a yoga teacher and somatic therapist complements her evidence-based psychiatric practice and informs a holistic understanding of mental and physical wellbeing.
