Approach to Mental Health Care
Brenda’s therapeutic approach is collaborative, compassionate and grounded in evidence-based practice. She creates a safe and encouraging space where clients can explore their experiences and develop meaningful strategies for change. Her clinical work includes support for anxiety, depression, trauma, parenting and workplace issues, and life transitions.
She also has a special interest in working with neurodivergent individuals, including those with ADHD, offering supportive and strengths-based strategies to assist with motivation, emotional regulation, organisation and self-understanding. Brenda’s toolkit includes a range of therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Schema Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), somatic approaches and Positive Psychology interventions.
Innovative Practice
In addition to her clinical work, Brenda has developed online courses to support clients, particularly those who are neurodivergent, with building skills for everyday life. Her approach integrates psychological tools with a holistic view of wellbeing, considering each person’s physical health, lifestyle, relationships and readiness for change.
Beyond the Therapy Room
Outside of her clinical practice, Brenda enjoys creative writing, spending time with family and friends, and recharging in nature—whether walking along a trail or relaxing by the beach. She values a balanced life and brings this philosophy into her work with clients.
