I already have a diagnosis. Do I need to see someone again?

If you have previously been diagnosed with ADHD by a psychiatrist, paediatrician or neurologist, you may be suitable for Wellvue’s fast-tracked ADHD assessment pathway, which generally consists of two psychiatrist appointments.

To access this pathway, we require:

  • A previous formal ADHD diagnosis made by a psychiatrist, paediatrician or neurologist; and
  • Supporting clinical documentation confirming your diagnosis and treatment history (such as your ADHD assessment report, specialist letters and medication management records).

If your previous ADHD assessment was completed by a psychologist, your documentation may also be considered for the fast-tracked pathway on a case-by-case basis. The treating psychiatrist will review the quality and completeness of the assessment and determine whether the fast-tracked pathway is appropriate or whether our standard ADHD assessment pathway is recommended.

Acceptance into the fast-tracked pathway, and any prescribing decisions, remain at the discretion of the treating psychiatrist following a clinical assessment.
