Dr Emily Lickliter

Dr Emily Lickliter is a Melbourne-based Consultant Psychiatrist who works with young people and adults aged 18–65 years.

Emily completed her medical degree at Monash University and undertook psychiatric training across a range of health services in Melbourne and the Northern Territory. She completed advanced training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Alfred Health, Victoria, and continues to work within the public mental health sector in perinatal, child and youth mental health services.

Emily’s qualifications include a Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from Monash University, Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP), and a Certificate in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry from the University of Melbourne.

Approach to Care

Emily takes a thoughtful, collaborative approach to care, placing importance on authenticity, curiosity and reflection. She works alongside her patients to develop a shared understanding of their experiences and challenges, drawing on a range of evidence-informed perspectives including developmental and relational psychology, family systems theory, trauma-informed practice, neurobiology and psychoanalytic thinking.

Her goal is to help patients better understand themselves and create meaningful, sustainable change in their lives.
